CALLING ALL RECORDING ARTISTS Edinburgh NightNews was recently invited by peoplesound.com to join their A & R referral staff and to invite musicians and artists we encounter to consider promoting, distributing and selling their music using the peoplesound website. The peoplesound.com proposition is reproduced here on the Nightnews website as well - so artists can look at it anytime on the A&R page The service is entirely FREE to artists. If artists are interested in this whole concept they should please let me know and send over any questions they may have. I will then tell them what they need to do to go ahead and mail over the peoplesound documentation. I hope that artists will find this interesting and will consider using the peoplesound.com resources available through Nightnews. Its a great way for artists and new bands to market their work or distribute their music, in the whole of Europe as well as further afield. Dysfunction Report I dropped into this club for the first time on Thursday 16 March, a bit late as its been going for over a year and I wish I had been sooner as well. So if you have not yet visited this club give it a thought as its a lot of fun. Kewl sounds, nice, good looking people, many familiar faces from the alternative scene in Edinburgh and some guest DJ's you will recognise from elsewhere. The organisers felt it was untypically a quiet night but if this is quiet then they don't have much to worry about. Its not a cheap night though and I did'nt spot any offers at the bar after the relatively stiff midweek entry price - just call me cheap hehe! A good night out for about a tenner. Full details are on the events page. JV |
Kero-Scene K2 Report Also known as K2, this is an extreme metal club to be aware of in Edinburgh. At this club, every Wednesday night is a corpse paint night. A welcome alternative to those other clubs that have come to the end of the road. Featured in the List, Kerrang, Terrorizer and other good magazines. Eighty to one hundred midweek metal scene clubbers every week! Watch out for the new K2 galleries in the gallery submenu. JV The NightNews Website has moved..
