22 08 07 - There were longer queues for Henry Rollins than any other
show I attended this year. Henry Rollins only had four nights in the
Teviot Debating chamber and I was lucky to see his final show. 
Remembered as a US hardcore punk legend from the Black Flag days, 
Henry has matured into a bit of a polymath as well as a media giant
and an evident survivor of the hazardous rock lifestyle! He's also 
known for his spoken word pieces which is the nature of the show. 
Onstage he's a fit, grey haired, tattooed muscled guy with enormous 
charisma and great energy who is willing to push the limits of the 
envelope of controversy. This generally means that he's not afraid 
to criticize the Bush regime and in real terms he does so with such
a genuine evangelical zeal that it implies a mission to spend the 
rest of his life riling the right and the neo-cons! He's certainly 
quick with his wits and for an hour and forty five minutes, amuses,
entertains and captivates. The very late night audience are regaled
with his reflections, ranging on the absurdity of abstinence based 
sex education, through rock n roll anecdotes to the US State 
department's list of Islamic countries that are supposedly dangerous
to visit. Henry knows that South of Florida contains even more 
dangerous territory than that of most rogue states in the rest of 
the world put together. He closed this show with a strategy for 
putting the edge back into 'city' life by releasing dangerous 
predators and thereby uniting city-dwellers through 'fear' of
being eaten! Its a tribute to Henry's presentation that it seemed
totally plausible and united the audience in an almost standing 
ovation! Support the Arts, support Henry Rollins, follow his advice
and make the world a better place!
